When I joined Enterprise in 1996, I remember the whole process being a bit of a whirlwind. I had left university and done a couple of part-time jobs without really knowing what I wanted to do as a career. Then I saw an Enterprise advert in a local paper that looked very interesting. I had never heard of them before and thought I would apply.

Within two weeks, I’d attended an assessment day, got a job offer and been given a start date. In a way, it was a highly appropriate start to my career here, as I have found myself growing along with the business at a very fast pace. For example, the branch I started in was only the third to open in the UK. We now have over 400 branches!

That branch, as I recall, was extremely busy – people running all over the place, customers calling and coming into the branch and hundreds of cars to wash. I just thought: wow. What a crazy place to work! It was great fun, though. I really liked the people I worked with and we socialised outside of work as well. It was one big family. Every day you learned something new and you could see your career develop in front of you.

In the 17 years since then, I’ve been able to learn lots of new skills and gain experience in a wide range of roles – and my Enterprise career story has had more highlights than I can mention.

Recently, I progressed from Area Rental Manager to become UK Contact Centre Manager, which was a big career change for me and a real challenge. But, as always at Enterprise, it’s been really enjoyable too.
