On Sunday 8th March it’s International Women’s Day. A 24 hour celebration to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women. Thousands of events will take place all over the world to celebrate the day, and this year’s theme is Make It Happen, which is about encouraging effective action for advancing and recognising women.
Last year Enterprise celebrated its ninth consecutive year as one of the UK’s Top 50 Employers for Women. But we don’t need accolades and awards to prove that we have a dynamic and vibrant female culture at Enterprise, you just have to look at people like Pam Nicholson, our CEO, who has been has been recognised by Fortune Magazine as one of the ’50 Most Powerful Women in Business. And Fayola-Maria Yeboah who founded the LAUNCH programme and continuously drives initiatives to identify and develop female talent within the business.
FEATURED JOB: Management Trainee- Bath
We spoke to Fayola about the work she does with the LAUNCH programme:
“I’ve always been passionate about identifying and developing talent and creating opportunities for those around me. At 9 months on board, I was elected into the Women in Leadership Board as vice-chair. As a board we work to support career success and the empowerment of women as future leaders in the workplace. As part of this work I founded the LAUNCH program, which is aimed at high potential females in the local communities Enterprise operates in. LAUNCH is a flagship programme which shares the essential tools you need to achieve career success in today’s marketplace and the content is the mastermind of a large team of Enterprise talent who work across a spectrum of our business areas.”
Our awards, events and the work that we do are testament to the efforts made to recruit and retain the best female employees in the business. And we believe that nothing should stand in your way of success.
