My Grandmother passed away on the 27^th January 2015. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1977, and due to the poor radiotherapy she went through at that time, it caused long-term health problems and was the major cause for her eventual death.

I came up with an idea that would make a difference in memory of my Grandmother, and that was to raise money and awareness for breast cancer and contribute towards improving radiotherapy and research for the future. I wanted to connect my idea with Enterprise because I knew how much change my Grandmother saw in me as a person since I started my job there, and it was a place where I saw my future self, building a successful career.

After approaching my area manager, I suggested that I would like to have a ‘Pink day. He was 100% on board and made it happen for me on the 27^th February. Everyone in my area contributed towards raising some funds, and I was even more elated to hear that other Enterprise colleagues across the country wanted to make a specific contribution for Pink Day.

I have been utterly touched by the support and kindness presented to me by my Enterprise family. I do not think I could be a part of a more incredible organisation who values me as an employee, lets my voice be heard and makes sure they can support and encourage me whether it be work related or personal.
